Rocker # 2

The second in my rock musicians series is a drummer. I was drawn to the contrast between the way the light played off his hair and the darkness in the lower portion where drums and cymbals block the light.

Robert Cray - SOLD

I rather like this one. I've used this style before and now I remember why I do not use it more often. While it seems simplistic just painting the shapes of color. I find it much more difficult and I have to paint so many more layers to get the paint smooth and fairly free of brush strokes. This was fun and I may decide to do some more of these. I also stepped away from my normal palette and with some quite happy with the results.

John Swegle - gifted to a friend

John is the son of a very good friend. He's a senior in high school and will be leaving home to go to college in the near future. I know his mother will miss him terribly so I thought she might enjoy having a reminder of him around to ease the loss. He's an interesting, charming and thoughtful young man and I hope I've captured that for her.

Lindsay Rose

Lindsay is my nephews daughter. This is from a photo he took of her peeking through some wild mustard or some other random plant. She's a cute little thing and very charming too!
